Yes, Bill Bixby was an excellent actor. I remember that he also appeared as a reluctant soldier on the acclaimed World War II tv series, “Combat,” with the late, great Vic Morrow, the always cool-in-the clutch, Sgt. Saunders.
Mr. Bixby also starred in the controversial PBS production of the play, “Steambath,” with the beautiful and zaftig Valerie Petrine and terrific character actors Herb Edelman, Kenneth Mars, Jose Perez, Art Metrano, Stephen Elliott and Neil J. Schwartz (the irrepressible “Bag” on “Happy Days”). |
