Did Disney screw over Raven-Symoné for petty reasons
Raven apparently turned down doing the Cheetah Girls TV show because she wanted to focus mostly on That's So Raven. Plus, Disney also wanted Raven to tour with The Cheetah Girls but again, Raven wanted to focus on her own music. So there could be within reason, to believe that Raven being independent, refusing to be overworked, and most likely not properly compensated really ticking off the Disney execs.
Consequently, Raven's music was nowhere close to heavily promoted to the same extent as Hilary Duff, Miley Cyrus, or Selena Gomez's. Keep in mind that when she signed onto Disney, she basically became the face of Disney Channel along with Hilary. And That's So Raven was quietly cancelled. It did not get a proper finale or even a big movie despite keeping Disney Channel afloat in the mid-2000s and killing it in the ratings and merchandise sales. |
