Was the last season the absolute worst

Between Chet now knowing about Lisa, Vanessa Angel looking bored, and the boys reduced to supporting players on their show, plus an evidently lower budget. Did Chet not only knowing about Lisa's true nature and creating sexual tension ruin his main function as the jerky brother who unwittingly gets caught up in the magical shenanigans without ever quite knowing what's going on? Chet was in a sense, kind of like Dr. Bellows on I Dream of Jeannie.

Also, it seemed like every episode was about Lisa screwing up, where every wish seemed to become just an excuse for a movie parody. For example, in the final episode, she causes an alien invasion a la Independence Day and gets people killed. Before, the "wish" sort of worked but then had an unexpected twist, or the boys took it too far.
