This year's Grammy Awards, scheduled for Jan. 31, will likely be postponed for a second straight year due to the pandemic, reports Variety. Last year's ceremony was pushed to March 14. Meanwhile, Page Six reports that the Recording Academy may move the Grammys to the Hollywood Bowl because of its outdoor location. |

All that I want to know is if anything from Alison Krauss was even submitted for nomination consideration. Three collaborations from her were released during the eligibility time period.
God bless you and Alison and her musical circle always!!! Holly (a fan of her since 1994) |

Grammys postponed indefinitely amid Omicron surge
The 64th Grammy Awards, set for Jan. 31 on CBS with Trevor Noah as host, is the latest big TV event delayed due to the surge in the Omicron variant of COVID-19. A new date hasn't been announced. This is the second straight year that the Grammys have been postponed due to the pandemic. "While the 2022 show had been moving full speed ahead to take place on Jan. 31 before a full audience at its traditional venue, the Crypto.com Arena (formerly known as the Staples Center) in downtown Los Angeles, the recent Covid-19 surge has caused the postponement or cancellation of multiple events across the country," reports Variety's Jem Aswad. "Sources tell Variety that even though the Crypto.com Arena has a basketball or hockey game or a concert booked nearly every night until mid-April, enough artists and executives voiced reluctance about appearing to convince the Academy to postpone the show." In a joint statement, CBS and the Recording Academy said: “After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th annual Grammy Awards show. The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon.” |

Grammys are moving to Las Vegas for rescheduled April 3 ceremony
The 2022 Grammy Awards, originally scheduled for Jan. 30 in Los Angeles, will move to Las Vegas' MGM Grand Garden Arena with an April 3 ceremony on CBS following a delay due to the pandemic's Omicron surge. As Billboard notes, "this will be the first time the telecast has been held anywhere but L.A. or New York since 1973, when it was held in Nashville. And it will be the first time the show has ever been held in a city in which the Recording Academy doesn’t have chapter. This will be the latest in the calendar year that the Grammys have been held since the seventh annual Grammy Awards were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif. on April 13, 1965. (That was before the first live Grammy telecast in 1971.)" Last year's Grammys were pushed back from Jan. 31 to March 14. |

I thought they were postponed due to bad taste in Grammy selections.

I still don't know about Alison Krauss. She released the following collaborations during the eligibility time frame.
"Too Much Heaven" with Barry Gibb (This duet couldn't be anymore flawless.) "Amazing Grace"-Andrea Bocelli "Can't Let Go"-Robert Plant God bless you and them and Alison always!!! Holly (a fan of her since 1994) P.S. May she and Robert clean house whenever next year's show takes place. Alison has a Grammy award winning title to re-claim.
