If I have my facts straight, Florence Henderson, Ann B. Davis, and Barry Williams were the only three actors to appear in every Brady Bunch episode. In season one in order to save money, each child did not appear in one episode. So when it was Barry's turn not to appear, they changed the policy.
The point that I'm trying to make is that was this really a huge savings? I don't know if this is entirely accurate, but I read that in 1969, a child actor was likely making something like $350-$400 an episode. If five of the six child actors missed a single episode each, that was a total savings of about $2,000. |
