Do the Degrassi actors get ANY residuals?
Why is such a popular, long-running TV show just free? Why is one its main actors driving for Uber? Are Canada laws different for this type of thing?
Supposedly, the pay for the show wasn't amazing or at least what you would expect for a show that was really popular at one point. Drake posted his residual check on his IG laughing at it because it was under $10. And they were literal teenagers and unknowns in few other if any projects when the show began. So one could also expect that they were paid very little because of this. And when their time on the show ended, very few of them had a career that took off after that. |
