Walker creator Anna Fricke and star Jared Padalecki are executive producing Walker: Independence, based on a story by her and Walker executive producer Seamus Fahey, who will write the potential series. "A Walker origin story set in the late 1800s that follows Abby Walker, an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West," reads Walker: Independence's logline. "On her quest for revenge, Abby crosses paths with Hoyt Rawlins, a loveable rogue in search of purpose. I wonder if they'll use Matt Barr to play Hoyt in Walker: Independence? I wish they hadn't killed him off in the current Walker tv show.

Arrow alum Katherine McNamara returning to The CW to star in Walker: Independence pilot

She'll co-star with Matt Barr on the prequel spinoff of Walker set in the late 1800s, playing Abby Walker, "an affluent Bostonian whose husband is murdered before her eyes while on their journey out West," per Deadline.
