TV shows today are expected to hit it big within the first few episodes and if they don't, they get canned. Many great shows with potential got tossed because audiences and executives were too impatient with them. Assuming Seinfeld were to play out like it did in its first run, it would be cancelled either in its first or second season because barely anyone has a patience to see anything succeed anymore.
Couple that with comedies being a dying breed in general and I could see Seinfeld struggling a lot in the current era. |
