In the series finale, she landed a recording contract and moved to Nashville. Do you think she had a hit? What do you think she'd be doing if the series was revised?

I wanna think she finally realized her dreams of being a singer, maybe she and Belle met up in Nashville, since that's where she went also and they traveled and toured together

I think it's more likely than not that the contract wound up being a lemon- and Alice joined the tens of thousands of Grand Ole Opry wannabees and waited tables again hoping for her 'big break' .

Imagine if the contract fell through and Alice ended up working in a diner in Nashville similar to Mel's lol

Considering that she was a [gasp]40-something newcomer who specialized in show tunes instead of country music, I somehow doubt that that contract would have been worth the paper it was written on (and in the early 80's Nashville was by NO means a musically diverse mecca that it's trying to be nowadays).

Oh, and I had a relative back then[who was a 20-something country singer) who also tried to break into stardom but just wound up singing background in one song but got told 'since she lives in Nashville, she should have NO PROBLEMS becoming a country music star'! HA HA HA!

So, with all the above said, I have no doubt that Alice would more likely than not joined the tens of thousands of wannabees in Nashville trying to find a diner to wait tables at while pinning everything on their 'big break'.
