The longtime ESPN college basketball announcer revealed Monday that tests over the past three weeks have confirmed a diagnosis of lymphoma, which appears unrelated to his earlier cancer. Vitale said his prognosis is good and that he will continue to work around his upcoming chemotherapy schedule.

The voice of college basketball returned to ESPN last night amid his chemotherapy treatments. "I didn’t want to cry," he said. "I can’t believe I’m sitting here. It’s really a big thrill for me. I want to thank all of you people that sent me so many great messages."
