I wouldn't have mind if they gotten rid of Chief O hara but I would have been mad if they gotten rid of Robin.

Some of the research done by LandumC Goes There leaves a little to be desired. I was stunned during the presentation when the following comment was made:
"The first two seasons were off the chart with popularity" This is not true. The first season which was really only half a season was off the chart, the second second was not. The movie which played over the summer between seasons 1 and 2 made back its investment but was a disappointment at the box office based on expectations. The show was in freefall during the second season, in fact it barely got renewed with the Wednesday episode being axed for season 3. By the time Batgirl is introduced into the series the ship was already sinking so it was probably too late. That said, the character had no chance to work with Robin in the mix, so the network's idea to replace Robin may not have been a bad one. I can't believe NBC had any serious interest in a series that had been a half season fad two years earlier, but they may have seen it as working well with Get Smart which had been in a two year rating decline. I guess it's possible but I don't buy it. |
