Liotta clarifies to The Guardian that he was offered a role on The Sopranos, but not as Tony Soprano. Liotta, who is starring in David Chase's Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark, says he was offered the role that eventually went to Joe Pantoliano. “I didn’t want to do another mafia thing, and I was shooting Hannibal," says the Goodfellas star. "It just didn’t feel right at the time.”
