Jaleel White will reprise his iconic Family Matters role for Cartoon Network's Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story, which will be written and executive-produced by Wyatt Cenac. “The holiday season has arrived, and brilliant but accident-prone Steve Urkel has already ruined his local celebration by publicly humiliating a shopping mall Santa,” according to the special's logline. “In his attempt to make things right and score some nice points with the big guy in the North Pole, Steve creates an invention that only makes things worse. Using his big brain and even bigger heart, Steve must find the real Santa to see if together they can help the city rediscover the holiday spirit.”

Did I Do That to the Holidays? A Steve Urkel Story will follow another set of misfortunes created by Steve Urkel (voiced by Jaleel White) as he tries to score some points with Santa Claus during the holidays. The Urkel special is just one of many others announced by Warner Media Kids & Family to air on Cartoon Network and later on HBO Max. Other titles include DC’s Merry Little Batman, an untitled Looney Tunes Cartoons movie, the Harry Potter Wizarding World Competition Event Series, Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, and more....

Thanks for the news. I wonder what Jaleel is going to sound like now. To me, during the last season or two, his voice had most definitely changed to where his Steve Urkel voice was different compared to how it was during the show's previous couple of seasons.

It seems like they are testing the waters to see if an animated series with Steve Urkel would work, especially after his appearance in a 2019 episode of Scooby-Doo and Guess Who? & now this.

Urkel Holiday Movie Among Animated Projects Not Moving Forward for HBO Max

Did I Do That to the Holidays?: A Steve Urkel Story, is among six animated projects that are no longer being produced for HBO Max, sources confirm for TVLine.

TVLine hears that all six projects, mostly from Warner Bros. Animation, will continue production while they are shopped to other outlets.

The news comes amid numerous programming changes at an in-transition HBO Max, where some projects are being nixed and others that already stream on the service are being (not-so-)quietly removed.

The animated musical holiday special, written and executive-produced by Wyatt Cenec, and announced in September 2021, finds Jaleel White reprising his legendary nerd character.
