Trailblazing Black daytime soap opera star Micki Grant dies at 80

Grant starred on NBC's Another World from 1965 to 1972, appearing in the first-ever daytime opera regular storyline written for a Black actress. Grant's role was originally written as a white character but was changed when Grant was hired as daytime’s first Black contract player. Grant later had roles in The Edge of Night, Guiding Light and All My Children. |
