Variety reports that "advertising executives believe much of that lost primetime volume has, like a glacier breaking free after decades from an arctic shelf, drifted elsewhere, most likely to streaming video and other types of digital commercials." As one media buyer put it: "They don’t have the same audiences that they had a year ago, and the year before that, and the year before that. They have less to sell.” |

When you get the general picture if you watch TV today during the primetime hours the only commercials you see target seniors and are mostly health related advertising commercials for products such as medicines illnesses and anything appealing to the 65 and up crowd. But if you're watching TV during primetime you hardly see commercials for cars and food being shown much anymore. But where will the commercials be shown instead of network primetime? On streaming channels like Tubi and Youtube. Why you ask? Because the advertisers probably get better money for Tubi and Youtube and Pluto TV to show their commercials. But even with commercials leaving primetime you can still find them shown on METV and other channels in the morning hours. But if commercials leave prime time the advertisers lose money and airplay
