Default Hayley Mills recalls working with Dustin Diamond on Good Morning, Miss Bliss

https://ew.com/tv/hayley-mills-remem...ng-miss-bliss/

"He was a really sweet kid. I'm very sad about that," the Oscar-winning actress tells EW of working with the late actor on her one season on the Saved by the Bell precursor. "I remember (Diamond) always being sweet and really funny. I was very fond of him, as I was all of them." As for Saved by the Bell, Mills says: "The success of that series has been so great. I only did one season, but dear Mr. Belding (Dennis Haskins) carried it on while the kids just got bigger and bigger. It was fun, and I loved doing it. It's odd because even though I only did one season, it never did go away. (Laughs) What it did for me personally was that suddenly young kids who hadn't watched The Parent Trap or any of my Disney movies recognized me from Saved by the Bell. That one season gave me a whole new image on television."

She said she'd be up to reprising her role as Miss Bliss, if they asked. I hope they ask. That would be so cool to see. Sort of a full circle moment: the one character from the pilot appearing on the revival.

The kid in me would be jumping up and down. I loved her character, and was sad to see her go. They could even bring in Mikey and Nikki for cameos.

I doubt Mikey would want to return since he was hurt that they let him go when they put in new characters for Saved By The Bell

I wish Good Morning Miss Bliss continued, it was a decent show but I can understand why they wanted to change and put new characters in and it did became a big success because of it but Miss Bliss was sorely missed though, she was great

I was watching Good Morning, Miss Bliss on E! the other night, and I do often wonder how much differently would the series have panned out had Hayley Mills stayed on. On one end, I do get why they felt that it would be better business wise to focus more on the kids. GMMB was seen as a failure but it still had potential that could be exploited if they tinkered the formula a little.

Maybe the feeling was the kids weren't going to gravitate towards some "stuffy British lady". Especially considering that Hayley Mills wasn't really "funny" on the show. She was more or less, the "straight-woman" who had to react to what was going on in the episode and then solve everybody's problems.

But I realize that Hayley Mills gave the show a real moral central and gravitas that perhaps the latter incarnations of Saved by the Bell were lacking. I liked that fact that Miss Bliss seemed like a real, multi-dimensional person instead of a caricature of an educator on shows for kids/teenagers. I guess I kind of see Miss Bliss as a early variation of Mr. Fenny on Boy Meets World.
