The country star explained in his audition that he became sober last year after having “too many drinks” before driving - leading to a “bad wreck” in what was the “worst night of his life.” Seacrest apparently forgot that Beckham discussed his battles with alcoholism throughout the season. “You’ll need to get some beers, right? You can’t go fishing without some beer. Ice cold,” Seacrest told Beckham. The comment prompted fans to denounce Seacrest for being tone-deaf.
