Default Saved by The Bell: The Characters' 10 Most Impractical Outfit Choices, Ranked

https://screenrant.com/saved-by-the-...t-impractical/

Quote:
10
Tori's Leather Jacket

While it's understandable that her wardrobe choices are meant to underscore her rebellious biker lifestyle, Tori's (Leanna Creel) overbearing leather jacket is still quite impractical.

A bit slow to acclimate to her new surroundings, there is simply no way that Tori would need to wear a heavy leather jacket in sunny Los Angeles weather where Bayside High is located. Her jacket is merely meant to keep up appearances rather than to keep her warm in an already hot climate.

9
Long Cheerleader Skirts

While protesting the misogynistic nature of modern-day cheerleader uniforms, Jessie rightly rallies her friends to foster sweeping change. However, her wish turns into a logistical nightmare.

After getting her way, Jessie, Kelly, and Lisa are outfitted with extremely long cheerleader skirts that go all the way down to their shoes. The cumbersome uniforms literally hinder the girls' ability to perform their dance routines with the proper agility and flexibility.

8
Screech's Cowboy Getup

During the iconic "No Hope With Dope" episode, Screech makes a really odd wardrobe choice when attending Johnny Dakota's glitzy Hollywood party.

Posing as an actor with the intent of being discovered by a Hollywood bigwig, Screech curiously dons a brown, fringy suede trench coat and cowboy hat that he thinks will make a great first impression. Awkward as ever, Screech can hardly move in the mummy-like shroud, and his ability to party suffers as a result.

7
Zack's Native Headdress

In "Running Zack," Zack's insensitive Native American regalia is impractical to the point of insolence. While it's clear he's going the extra mile to get a good mark in class, there is no way such an offensive outfit needed to be worn.

The culturally appropriated outfit includes a gigantic headdress with plumed feathers that looks extremely heavy and uncomfortable to wear. According to EW, Mark-Paul Gosselaar apologized for the poorly aged episode in 2016.

6
Lisa's Rainbow Shoulder Pads

Lisa Turtle's fashion sense on the show often featured a mixture of exorbitant pastel colors and puffy materials. Of all the characters, she always seemed overdressed for the occasion in the most impractical of manners.

A case in point is this black dress with voluminous rainbow shoulder pads that resemble swimming floaties. Lisa donned this outfit twice on the show, both to attend high-profile functions. She wore it to Jessie's father's wedding and the infamous Murder Mystery mansion. Screech's houndstooth Sherlock get up isn't helping.

5
Costume Ball

Considering how the entire gang had to perform at the school dance during the costume ball in the Season 3 premiere, their outfits are wildly illogical.

The biggest concern is Zack's Romeo costume, replete with beige tights and an oversized, Seinfeld-like puffy shirt. How is Zack supposed to shred hard rock licks in that outfit? While Kelly's Juliet dress is perfectly fine, Jessie and Slater take over for Zack and sing a love ballad while wearing Mark Antony and Cleopatra costumes.

4
Screech's Beach Attire

Screech has never been one to be at the forefront of hip and trendy fashion styles, but the outfit he sports when the gang hits the beach during Senior Cut Day is impractical to the point of lunacy.

First off, while everyone around him is either barefoot or wearing sandals, Screech wears rainbow socks and high-top red Converse All-Stars. Not to be outdone, Screech also has on a pair of suspenders over his tank-top to hold up his shorts, making it nearly impossible to swim. The kicker is the grandmother's bonnet that he keeps folded over in a way that does not block out sunlight one bit.

3
Lisa's Camouflage Miniskirt

During "The Fabulous Belding Boys" episode, Mr. Belding's cool little brother Rod serves as a substitute teacher for Zack and the gang. He scores points with the students by arranging a river-rafting field trip.

In preparation for the trip, Lisa Turtle feels the need to dress in an upscale camouflage miniskirt with a matching blouse, gloves, and accessorized jewelry. Stranger yet, she also has a Louis Vuitton square handbag, and sports unathletic flats. Despite the gorgeous ensemble, she seems the least prepared for a hiking/rafting trip.

2
Screech's Hula Skirt

In the "Aloha Slater" episode of the show, Zack concocted an elaborate scheme to ensure Slater relocates to Hawaii with his father and leaves Bayside High for good. During Slater's big send-off gala, Screech impractically wears an uncomfortable and ill-fitting grass hula skirt.

While it's more a result of Zack's coercion than Screech's decision, Screech sports a senseless hula skirt that includes a large fruit bowl resting on top of his head and a pineapple bra. Not a coconut, a pineapple. Not only would this be extremely uncomfortable, but he also lacks the trademark grass skirt that Kelly, Jessie, and Lisa wear.

1
Slater's Spandex

Regardless of how accurate the attire might be for a ballerina, there is still no way on Erath that A.C. Slater should or would need to perform his legendary ballet act in this ultra-huggy pair of spandex tights. It's clear the fit was chosen to accentuate Mario Lopez's stellar physique.

In "Breaking Up is Hard to Do," Slater vows to prove he has more on his mind than football. When he demonstrates his ballet dance skills in front of Jessie and Kelly at the Max, for some reason Slater rips off his clothes to reveal a professional skintight black onesie like he was Mikhail Baryshnikov.
