Was Georgette the closest thing that MTM had to a "scrappy" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Especially after her screen time was increased after Rhoda and Phyllis left for their own spin-offs. It's really hard to truly dislike her as a character because was so sweet, but she still had that baby voice (which in fairness, Georgia Engel legitimately had). And compare her character to Betty White's character on The Golden Girls (another sweet but ditzy woman) and do you agree that Georgette needed a little bit of an edge to her? And you can argue that once she became Ted's wife, Ted's character suffered and became less interesting.
