Cuoco will play the icon of movie icon, singer, CBS sitcom star and animal rights activist who died in May 2019 at age 97. No network is yet attached to the limited series, which will be adapted from A.E. Hotchner’s 1976 biography Doris Day: Her Own Story, based on a series of interviews conducted with Day. The book is considered Day's autobiography. Cuoco's production company, Yes, Norman Productions, obtained the rights to the book and will produce the series with Warner Bros. TV and Greg Berlanti's Berlanti Productions. In a recent Variety cover story, Cuoco mentioned that the Doris Day project was something she was eyeing. Day began was a major box office draw in the 1950s and 1960s, particularly in romantic comedy movies co-starring Rock Hudson, after making her film debut in 1940s movie musicals. |

Would be interesting if it was done correctly. She had some interesting marriages and one of her husbands was her manager and basically stole all of her money. A reason why she had a TV show. I think her son Terry Melcher is (it was) an interesting person. Charles Manson/ Tate killings. Plus being the child of a famous person, and was he being appreciated for being him instead of being the son of Doris Day.
On the Negative, about 90 plus percent of Doris Day fans are dead. No one really knows her anymore. So will the subject matter be interesting? But she had an abusive husband and the. Another husband lost/stole her money. Then Terry died and she ended up old and s alone with animals as her friends. She lived until she died so they say. |

Doris Day as a young girl. Timeless picture. She would not have been out of place in the 1980’s or today staring at a phone. |

Doris wasn't exactly somebody like say, Betty White or Cloris Leachman, in that she continued working and in the public eye well into her elder years, and thus, she would've theoretically been more able to foster a new generation of fans. Instead, Doris with all due respect, became something of a recluse in her later years. I believe that the last major Hollywood or show business function that she attended in person was at the 1989 Golden Globes, where she received the Cecil B. DeMille Award. |

Terry Melcher has to be a major part of the story. That would tie in people raised in the 1960’s to the 1980’s, plus Charles Manson. Doris Must have been very scared after the state murders since that was Melcher’s house. But the Manson stuff has been told a hundred times a hundred different ways.

I don't think Kaley looks much like Doris, but I'll probably watch it because I like Doris.
