I think these many commentators confuse Hollywood stars wanting to sleep with Elizabeth Montgomery while they were staring together, with her "enchanting" them. Elvis was enchanted with hundreds, even thousands of women.
I highly doubt he was attracted to Elizabeth Montgomery to the point that she enchanted him. Some of the hyperbole surrounding Elizabeth Montgomery's allure is beyond the pale. Hollywood stars sleeping around with each other isn't enchanting each other. It just shows how loose they were. |

This is what York said about Liz in his book: "I first fell in love with Elizabeth Montgomery by leg distance. No, that’s not a typographical error, it’s not long distance. By leg distance. I’d seen her on an Alfred Hitchcock or a Thriller or one of those shows with Tom Poston and I thought, My God, what a pretty dark-haired girl, and those legs, oh my God. Hmm. Confession time, Elizabeth." "I walked in to read for Bewitched and Liz was sitting outside the office, too, reading .I sat down and said, “Enjoying that?” She unfolded those gorgeous legs and looked at me, and I saw her in person for the first time." "She had full lips and dark, soft hair. She was sex all over. And still are, Lizzie. You still are. I’ve seen you lately, you’ve still got that certain thing."" |

Elizabeth Montgomery was the star of one TV show, Bewitched. She was not a movie star. She starred in a several TV movies, (the 1970's equivalent of B-pictures). But she was by no means a movie star.
I thought she was wonderful in Bewitched, but let's not get out of control and think she was some kind of Hollywood elite. To say Elizabeth Montgomery enchanted Elvis Presley, Gary Cooper and Dean Martin is absurd. Sure, they may have wanted to bed her, but she would have to stand in line behind a hundred others if she wanted to "enchant" them. |
