"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" to End With Long-Delayed, Shortened Season 8
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" to End With Long-Delayed, Shortened Season 8
by Ryan Schwartz February 11, 2021 The Nine-Nine is going off duty — but it’ll be quite some time before we have to say goodbye. NBC has announced that "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" will wrap its death-defying run with Season 8, which has been pushed to the 2021-22 TV season. The farewell season will consist of just 10 episodes, which will mark the series’ shortest season to date. “I’m so thankful to NBC and Universal Television for allowing us to give these characters and our fans the ending they deserve,” said executive producer Dan Goor. “When Mike Schur and I first pitched the pilot episode to Andy [Samberg], he said, ‘I’m in, but I think the only way to tell this story is over exactly 153 episodes,’ which was crazy because that was exactly the number Mike and I had envisioned.” https://tvline.com/2021/02/11/brookl...8-delayed-nbc/ |

![]() I had been expecting Brooklyn Nine-Nine to air four full seasons on NBC (including at least one full 22-episode season), but COVID-19-induced production shutdowns sure have shot that to hell. This make me so sick of NBC's comedy-schedule limitations that I wish The Voice would just cut back to airing on one day a week. With just ten episodes, you could have easily aired B99's eighth season during April/May and renewed it for an 18-episode farewell season for next year. |

Brooklyn Nine-Nine stars react to final season news
"It has been one of the greatest joys and honor of my life to play Amy," tweeted Melissa Fumero after NBC announced that Season 8, airing next season, will be the last for the beloved cop comedy. "I am so grateful to be able to take a victory lap with our beloved cast and crew. To our amazing fans, we love you. No tears for now, we still have a whole season to shoot!" Terry Crews added: "I'm sad it will end, but happy to have had the chance to be a part of something so special." |
