Question Are there any TV shows with fan-bases that have seemingly died out

For example, I've heard the arguments elsewhere that How I Met Your Mother and Game of Thrones, both barely have any fans anymore due in no small part to their respective terrible endings.

What about Lost? I remember that show was very popular when it was on in the mid-late 2000s but I don’t ever hear anything about it now

There definitely are still fans of Game of Thrones, despite the horrible last season. They just say things like, "I'm a huge fan of the show, except that horrible last season."

Facts of Life. You never hear anything about that show anymore.

Really?

I thought the four actors that played the four girls (after season 1) to this date still get feedback of fondness related to the show from fans.

Also, it's on Antenna TV, Roku Channel, and Logo/Pluto TV, which to me indicates some good staying power for it to be in their programming or library. I'd say that's decent coverage for an old show.

I'd say Lost more than Game of Thrones.

The Game of Thrones ending was weak, but the characters of the show are memorable. For example, Cersei and Joffrey Lannister.

It's not a show like Veep where I can watch again anytime I resubscribe to HBO. It might not be a show that I'd recommend either, given the craze is over, but still likely made in reference by fans.

Seinfeld is an example that has had strong staying power in culture references largely because of fans still remember scenes and particular characters of the show.

Sure would be nice if Pluto would show more than just the first two seasons.

It's also the most active TV show board here on SO. It was ranked number 3 on Antenna TV's poll of favorite shows on the network. The Facts of Life still has a strong fan base.

I would say Glee is a show where fans have abandon it. The show was huge when it first started and by the end hardly anyone was watching. I don't even think it had a run in syndication.

If you read the boards regularly here, just a little joke.

Yeah, with the 80,000 "prequels" and "will they be good? we'll see-quels" coming up, it's hard to believe the fanbase has died out

X-Files! That show was huge in the 90's and everyone was a fan. I think Disney might own the rights to the show after the Fox merger?

I definitely believe the fanbase is still there. "We'll see" if any of the sequels or prequels even get off the ground. George needs to finish writing so fans can get a proper ending. The ending we did get felt like a Mad Libs ending: like the final winner was drawn out of a hat rather than relying on the detailed foreshadowing from the previous seven seasons. I've never seen a TV show fall apart so quickly.

I've got no problem with the characters of GOT. The Lannisters are so bad they are great. The Starks are so great they are great. Dany was so pure and powerful she was great. The producers simply failed to execute a decent ending. Like seeing the most amazing gymnastics performance, and at the end the gymnast stumbles, falls over, and crashes into the mat, busting his/her lip open and breaking a leg. Painful to watch. Cringe inducing.

The Core Four and the Lost Girls are all active on various social media platforms of their respective choices, and have followings for sure.
