"While the 60-second, Superman-focused promo tells you the series hails from the creators of The Flash, the glossy shots of open midwestern landscapes, purposefully muted colors, and overall epic tone make it look and feel unlike the aforementioned speedy series or the network's other bright, technicolor superhero programs," says EW's Chancellor Agard of the trailer for Superman & Lois, premiering Feb. 23. Why did The CW's new Superman & Lois trailer feature so little Lois? The trailer released Thursday seemed to focus more on Superman than on Lois, even though both of their names are in the title. "Don’t get me wrong; I love a supportive partner, and that’s what Lois is: supportive AF and Clark’s ride-or-die," says Lyra Hale. "But why did it all have to be centered around Superman and his woes and worries? The show isn’t called Superman. It’s called Superman & Lois, and I’d love to see Lois having worries of her own, like Clark does, that don’t revolve around her husband and her family. That’s not to say that family isn’t important. It is, but Lois Lane has always been more than that." |
