Is it still on in the market where you live MeTV added it to their schedule this past fall but as of this week it's being replaced with My Three Sons. Hallmark, who had shown it for years, has now removed it from the schedule in favor of Reba. Bare in mind that Hallmark has also for the longest time, had The Golden Girls and Frasier, both of which are back on the schedule (after having to sit out due to Hallmark's annual blitz of Christmas movies) as of today.
One theory that I read is that the pay streaming site CBS All Access (soon to be known as Paramount+) has the rights to ILL and is going to play it on their platform instead of syndicating it out like they did for a million years. Compare that to The Honeymooners which despite turning 65 this year, is still fairly prevalent in reruns: MeTV shows it on Sunday nights, WPIX in New York City, shows it every Saturday in the afternoons and again at 11:00 on Saturday nights. They also do a Honeymooners New Year's marathon every year. |

I think there is a transition happening over at cbs. I heard there was a cbs/viacom merger. I think they just have to decide where to sell it to next. It's still available on Hulu and cbs all access. I wish they'd put every single episode up there. I have the DVDs, but I have friends who watch it on streaming and wish more episodes were available. They also didn't do a colorized special this year, which I hope they will continue to colorize more episodes in the future.

It still comes on Decades Monday-Friday at 1:00pm est. I think it could do better ratings on METV if they would move it to 10:00pm Sunday nights. And maybe acquire the rights to the color episodes, or only show the funniest episodes for the first couple of months, like they did with the Dick Van Dyke Show.

If it has these channels have no one to thank for it but themselves. They all constantly run Lucy for 6 hours in a row. You'd have to be out of your mind to watch hour after hour of Lucy or any sitcom, for that matter. I'll never understand why these TV channels actually think they're going to attract viewers by running the same show hour after hour. Whatever happened to the sensible idea of running one episode of a series and after that running a different show on and on a different episode of a different series every half hour. You're sure to attract people who aren't brain dead into watching their favorite show at least a few times a day. I'd have to be dead to keep the TV on while a channel showed endless episodes of only one show. Any show would die of over exposure with endless hours of episodes playing one after another all in a row playing like this. You need a break of at least a day before you want to see another ep. I for one watch only DVDs of shows and when I do watch I only watch ONE episode a WEEK, I give myself a week's break before watching the next episode. This is one reason I only watch DVDs of classic shows, I'm in control of what I see and WHEN I see it.

I think one reason that older shows like this have faded out is that people like me who were raised on them don't accept cutting minutes for commercials and on screen flashing ads during the show. I'd rather not watch it than watch under those conditions. Younger people accept being bombarded with ads.
