Oh No Kirk Cameron holds massive caroling event in mall parking lot

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...rking-lot.html
  • Cameron, 50, had been teaming up with Sing It Louder USA to do the demonstrations over the last two Sundays
  • Footage shows hundreds of protesters singing to their heart's content in a mall parking lot in Thousand Oaks, California
  • Many can be seen not wearing masks and in close proximity to each other
  • Carolers could be heard singing Jingle Bells and Angels We Have Heard on High
  • Police were called to the scene but just advised carolers to wear masks

Quote:
Growing Pains actor Kirk Cameron has led hundreds of maskless Californians in a massive caroling event during a 'peaceful protest' against Governor Gavin Newsom's lockdown measures.

Cameron, 50, had been teaming up with Sing It Louder USA to do the demonstrations over the last two Sundays, voicing his frustration that Gov. Newsom has banned mass gatherings like caroling into the holiday season.

The latest took place in the parking lot of the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks, California.

Footage shows hundreds of protesters singing to their heart's content. Many can be seen not wearing masks and in close proximity to each other. Carolers could be heard singing Jingle Bells and Angels We Have Heard on High.

The demonstrations comes as the state continues to be ravaged by the coronavirus.

Prior to the 'peaceful protest,' Cameron shared a post telling people to come out for the demonstration at the mall and telling others of how successful a previous event had gone.

'Have you ever sung Christmas Carols by candlelight at a time where your state governor has prohibited that in America,' he said in a video where he stood in front of an American flag hoisted onto a building. 'Well this is actually happening, you can't make this up.'

Sources in law enforcement explained to TMZ that mall security did call the police, with officers from the Thousand Oaks PD responding to the scene.

Those sources added that the officers just told the carolers that it was important to wear masks. No one was arrested at the scene, despite orders from the governor.

Newsom has caught a lot of flack in recent weeks as a 'Recall Gavin 2020' campaign gains thousands of signatures.

On November 6, it was revealed that Governor Newsom, 53, dined indoors with 22 people at the upscale French Laundry restaurant in Yountville, the Napa Valley region of California.

This was just days after mandating only outdoor dining for the state's 40 million residents, with restrictions of the number of people and households that can sit together.

He has recently caught flack for shelling out $80 million for public health billboards relating to the Covid-19 pandemic while ignoring the needs of small businesses suffering due to shutdowns.

Newsom has shuttered schools across the state, while his four children attend an in-person private tuition.

His Plumpjack Winery in Napa Valley remains open for reservations and in person tasting despite statewide shutdown of restaurants.

You just know that if anybody catches the virus and dies because of this event, he won't accept any responsibility for it. He'll just shrug and say "God called him/her home."

True.

California's ICU bed capacity is at an all-time low, with only 1-2% left. Who in his right mind would call for a massive unmasked gathering now, knowing that?

Kirk Cameron about Covid: 'We believe there is immunity in community'

Kirk also says he’ll continue hosting outdoor, mask optional, mass gatherings to peacefully protest California’s stay-at-home order.

Can't Mr. Cameron 'peacefully protest' via ZOOM?

I've been reading comments elsewhere concerning why Kirk's sister Candace hasn't publicly condemned his nonsensical behavior. While family is supposed to stick together but there are limits. I don't know if Candace Cameron Bure enables her big brother or shares many of his views but is "smart enough" to keep them quiet.

There are reasons Cameron was and probably still is persona non grata at family events held by the other cast members. He claims he lost his way toward the end of the show and has grown as a person since then. I don't think any of them are convinced. I sure am not. What a disappointment. The show was always about family values, life lessons and doing the right thing. He never understood the messages.

"Growing Pains" Stars Jeremy Miller, Tracey Gold Oppose Kirk Cameron's Maskless Protests
by Rosy Cordero
December 27, 2020

Kirk Cameron's maskless Christmas caroling protests are being criticized by his former "Growing Pains" co-stars Jeremy Miller and Tracey Gold.

"While I will always love my brother Kirk, I could not disagree more with his holding these maskless events at a time when safety and concern for others is an extreme priority," Miller, who played Cameron's young brother, Ben Seaver, on the hit 90s series, told Page Six. "I truly couldn’t be more disappointed in him."

Gold, who starred as Cameron and Miller's older sister Carol Seaver, also spoke out recently against the protest events.

"Checking in with my dear brother Mike. @KirkCameron as your more intelligent sister, I want you to know that I disapprove," she posted on Twitter. "I’m worried about you brother AND your family. Wear a mask. Stay home. Sing later."
