ESPN will get to show the first round when MLB expands its playoffs from 10 to likely 14 teams, including a best-of-three first round.

They should make this happen. I don't know why baseball doesn't insist on over-the-air free TV for their playoff games. Individual clubs throwing everything onto cable for large rights fees is one thing (also a mistake), but at the national level the sport needs to be on the most widely available channels.
