Peyton Manning to host NBC's revival of quiz show College Bowl - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

The former NFL QB will host a 10-episode revival of the quiz show that pits teams of college students head to head for scholarship funds and bragging rights. Manning will be joined by his brother, Cooper Manning, who will serve as sideline reporter. His other, Super Bowl-winning brother, Eli Manning, will serve as an executive producer. College Bowl originally aired on CBS from 1959 to 1963 and on NBC from 1963 to 1970.

That's great news! I have always felt that College Bowl should be revived for years due to the continued popularity of Jeopardy and a format that has been popular for decades that lives on in local high school quiz programs. Let's hope College Bowl is destined for a long run like the original that was hosted by Allen Ludden and Robert Earle.

The College Bowl is being revived? What a surprise because when it was known as the GE College Bowl it became a classic and hadn't been seen since 1989 when Pat Sajak hosted it on Disney Channel. I wonder how Payton Manning will do as a game show host?
