Bloom shares a collection of comic essays, accounts of her childhood, school years and her journey into Crazy Ex-Girlfriend success in I Want to Be Where the Normal People Are, which was released today.

In fact, the Crazy Ex-Girlfriend alum's new book I Want to Be Where the Normal People Are features a script for a musical, with accompanying audio from her website. "I had to get out so much specific autobiographical stuff in a very quick amount of time," she says. "It’s very specific and I have no idea if anyone will relate to it, but there’s a delightful song to listen to, if nothing else. Like a cheesy, badly-done morality play for elementary schoolers, where everything is very on-the-nose and obvious. That was fun and freeing to write." The book, she says, is "a pretty good representation of how my brain operates. It felt like I was putting daydreams on paper."
