When Devin Rossiter finished taping his Jeopardy! episode in August, he was stunned to see the air date would be on election day. “I saw ‘11/3’ and I thought, I feel like there’s something else going on that day,” says Rossiter. Since Jeopardy! airs at different times of the day throughout the country, many stations will likely not air Rossiter's episode due to election coverage -- while some will have aired it during the day. "Syndication also means that it’s up to those stations to decide whether a given episode airs at all—or if, because of some breaking news or sporting event, that episode will be delayed till late in the night or another day, or even canceled outright," says Clare McNear. "Because regular Jeopardy! episodes aren’t posted in their entirety to any streaming services—Netflix, for one, features rotating collections of episodes, all of them months or years old—that makes tracking down old, and especially unaired, episodes a tricky proposition." |

You would think the producer or whoever is charge of airing the show would say. Let's not air the show on such and such a night because we know ahead of time that something more important will be on. I know in my neck of woods, Jeopardy is aired in the middle of the night one night a week due to local programming. Yes to be on the show, and never see yourself is a bummer. I wonder if the contestants get a dvd of the show before they leave. One thing about Jeopardy I hate, you can be in second place with 1 cent less than the top winner and you leave with $2,000.
