Pregnant Ashley Tisdale says she's expecting a daughter in sweet gender reveal

"Ashley Tisdale shared the happy news Friday that she's expecting a baby girl.

The 35-year-old High School Musical star and her husband Christopher French, 38, revealed the baby's sex in an Instagram post of the two cutting into a pink-filled cake.

The actress has known the baby's sex for at least two weeks, as she first teased the reveal on October 2.



Ashley looked striking in her photos thanks to her white dress with large black polka dots, which featured a ruched top and spaghetti straps.

She had her ombré shoulder-length tresses styled in waves, and she shared a joyous smile as she cut into the white cake.

'This year has obviously been hard. For so many. Ups and downs, and an emotional roller coaster. I think this day was by far my favorite day EVER! I cried I was so happy,' she captioned her photos.

The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody star also took a dig at people who took sex reveal parties to dangerous new extremes by adding colored explosives, including a party last month at which blue smoke bombs started Southern California's massive El Dorado Fire.

'Ps for all you people going above and beyond for gender reveal parties. A cake with the color inside is JUST as rewarding as fireworks but SAFER!' she concluded, adding the hashtag, '#SheSoFrench.'



Earlier this month, Ashley shared only the first photo and polled her 13 million followers about whether she should share the baby's sex.

'I’ve been wondering if we should share the gender with all of you. As you know I like to keep as much as I can close to my heart but I’m so excited maybe I should .... yes or no? Comment below!' she wrote.

The actress, who's due in the spring, shared an update on her growing baby bump earlier this week, captioning it, 'Four months.'

She first revealed her pregnancy last month with a wordless photo of herself looking angelic in a white dress as she rested her forehead against Christopher's and cradled her tummy.
