Joe Morgan, Major League Baseball hall of famer and longtime ESPN broadcaster, dies

The Cincinnati Reds legend died at his home on Sunday. Morgan and play-by-play man Jon Miller called Sunday Night Baseball on ESPN from 1990 through the 2010 season. Michael Schur reflects on his "Fire Joe Morgan" past in wake of Joe Morgan's death The TV honcho behind Parks and Recreation, The Good Place and Brooklyn Nine-Nine spent the late 2000s posting on the influential sports blog Fire Joe Morgan under the name Ken Tremendous, which he still uses as his Twitter handle. In a brief interview with ESPN's Pablo Torre, Schur spoke about his sadness and said that he and the other writers always regretted the site's name. Baseball hall of famer Morgan died last Saturday at age 77. |
