In Is This Anything?, Seinfeld's first book in 25 years due out Tuesday, the comedian writes of coronavirus: "I feel like if I could talk to the coronavirus I would say, 'Let me understand this. I get you. You kill me. And then that kills you. Where are you going with this?'"

"In the opening pages, Seinfeld acknowledges that this book was largely his agent's idea; he repurposes enough of his prior (1995) bestseller to merit asking whether his ambivalence toward the project ever waned," says Jenna Marotta. "Is This Anything? isn't just bland; it accentuates the problems with what Seinfeld offers today's audience, and perhaps who he's become."

The answer to the question the book asks, no it's not. I read a portion of the book while I was at the book table in Costco and I was stunned. This is for people who want a printed version of his monologues, that's all you're getting here. If he had offered commentary on how he structured a routine, developed the wording or how he decided what topics would be funny that might have been something, but this...….
