The Pac-12 had originally delayed its fall football season to spring. But after securing rapid coronavirus testing, the Pac-12 is expected to start a seven-game season as soon as Nov. 6. The Pac-12 follows the Big Ten, which announced plans last week to start its season this fall. The news means eight of 10 NCAA Division 1 Football Bowl Subdivision conferences are playing this fall. The Mountain West Conference and the MAC (Middle Atlantic Conference) may vote soon to play this fall. UPDATE: The Mountain West Conference votes play this fall. |

It would've been interesting to see the Pac-12 playing a spring season. Then they could've had the attention of football fans all to themselves without having to manuever against other conferences and the NFL. Now the conference is going to be an afterthought again, with the accompanying strange for-television kickoff times to tick off fans (if any are allowed into the stadiums) and TV viewers. They resumed mostly to try to get a spot in the 4-team playoff, but since probably none of their teams will make it, the Pac-12 should've just waited until winter or spring to resume.
