1. Yes, I agree that they did a terrible job in the episode in which the Minkuses got some 'experts' to try to determine whether Farkle may be autistic. ALL the adults and even his peers seemed to treat that possible diagnosis as though he had cancer or Alzheimer's Disease. IOW, that he'd go on a ski-slope to being totally 'abnormal' JUST from the diagnosis. Then when, despite ticking off virtually all the answers, he got told he wasn't- everyone felt as though he'd be 'normal' after all. Yeah, what kind of message does that send to either actual autistic viewers, their loved ones, etc? This was an important issue and they could have at least stressed how this would change nothing about who he was or how they dealt with him just what they knew about him! That's not what happened.

2. While I didn't think Cory&Topanaga's BMW bond was necessarily 'toxic', I did think she could have done better than him but at least they both grew and learned to love each other for who they were by the end of the show and after they got married. Alas, by GMW, it definitely HAD become toxic but the worst irony was with Topanga constantly openly annoyed and contemptuous of Cory, while he was a supportive and faithful spouse, HE could have done better on GMW. I would have liked the poster to have gone into more detail WHY she believed their bond was toxic, though.

3. Agree that Riley was annoying (and I wish the show actually had regulars call out her annoying traits like BMW did Cory and even Topanga but instead everyone treated her as though she was perfect and wonderful-nope).

4. Agree that Maya was a much better friend to Riley than vice versa- and again, I wish someone had told Riley that for her to accuse Maya of 'copying her' when Maya made a better grade and stayed out of trouble was not only incredibly egomaniacal but also quite toxic. True friends don't want their acquaintances to take steps back JUST to satiate their own egos!

5. Would have prefered Shawn with Angela than Shawn with Katy. However, before Angela's solo appearance, Shawn had clearly indicated that they had broken up long since (and it was roughly a year before Miss McGee did that solo appearance). Yes, I agree, too, that they should have had her have SOME interaction with Cory and Topanga since she HAD been besties with Topanga and a bridesmaid at their wedding but it seemed once she gave her blessing to Shawn to seek out others (after revealing she'd been married four years- why didn't Cory or Topanga know that), she didn't have any function whatsoever. It might have been interesting had they had Angela be one of Cory's fellow teaching colleagues or even one of Topanaga's legal cronies and had her be a regular even if her time with Shawn was long since over but that's not what happened. Of course, the fact that Rider Strong only made a few appearances on the show complicated the whole dynamics- especially how his marriage to Katy happened and what kind of stepfather he was to Maya (incredibly passive) . The writers could have somehow compensated by having him and his actions referred to more often even if he wasn't present (OR they could have cast an entirely new character to be Maya's new father) but that didn't happen.

6. Yeah, they definitely mishandled the whole Maya and Josh flirtation. And the whole deal of Maya and Riley as middle schoolers being at a college party?! Cory, Topanga (and Katy) definitely should have totally reamed them out for putting themselves at risk like that. It would have been one thing had Josh said that if Maya was still interested in him when she came of age, he'd wait but he'd respect her call even if it wasn't in his favor but that's not what happened.

7. Yes, they underused Zay and it seemed a bit much that they didn't contemplate getting him a girlfriend in NYC but instead of having him carry the torch for his ex in Texas- regardless of pigmentation.

It was interesting to view this vid in which a viewer of the targetted age seemed to pick up on most if not all the problems of the show. Still, if she had allergies, IMO she should have used a Kleenex to wipe her nose instead of constantly wiping her upper lip with her hand if she knew she was going to do a video!

I suppose if Disney, etc. believes that are enough interested viewers who are willing to tolerate this show's qualities enough to part with X amount of $ for it, Disney, etc. may decide to see if putting out would net them a profit and/or if they may be able to declare enough of a loss from said release's possible failure to compensate for other more profitable ventures.

Of course, the fact that the YouTuber who put out those rather spot-on criticisms of the show for the vid of this thread's title IS of the age and gender demographics of what one would believe would be the most marketable of potential customers, if HER attitude is shared by the majority of the show's onetime fans (which she evidently was), then it's likely it won't get released on DVD in the foreseeable future.

The show is currently on Disney+, so I would assume that there's at the moment, little need to release it on DVD.

Why was Girl Meets World so terrible? Why should you avoid it on Disney Plus in favor of Boy Meets World? What do Girl Meets World and Hannibal have in common?

Actually, the second video was put up about three months before the one starting this thread- and it almost exclusively concentrates on the 'is Farkle autistic' episode. While it goes into more details about WHY that episode did a a disservice to those with autism and their loved ones, it didn't detail the show's overall flaws as much as the one more recently produced would do.

There are other vids on that site that express their dislike for the series but be warned some of them drop f-bombs like they were being paid extra for each one they used so anyone who either is triggered or just finds the frequent usage of that term annoying may want to be aware of that before surfing onto said vids.
