"The Goldbergs‘" next ’80s homage is ready for takeoff: The ABC comedy’s Season 8 premiere will pay tribute to 1980 parody film Airplane!, which starred Robert Hays, Julie Hagerty and Leslie Nielsen, it was announced during the show’s Comic-Con @ Home panel on Sunday.

“Murray’s gonna have some strong feelings about sitting in coach,” star Wendi McLendon-Covey teased, while executive producer Doug Robinson added, “The only thing crazier than having dinner with the Goldbergs is taking an airplane ride with the Goldbergs.”

Though it’s not yet clear when "The Goldbergs" will return, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it’s currently on ABC’s fall/”fall” schedule, where it will air Wednesdays at 8/7c.

The Goldbergs star Hayley Orrantia shares behind-the-scenes videos revealing what it is like filming the sitcom in the wake of COVID-19 - from individual chairs to DIY makeup

Haley, who plays Erica Goldberg on the show, has filmed a series of TikTok videos detailing how the cast and crew keep themselves as safe as possible on set
The 26-year-old started the tour in her trailer, revealing her clothes are now kept in plastic bags while her shoes and accessories are stored in plastic containers
Haley has to do her pre-makeup prep herself, including her nails
The show's stars are driven to the set in a van two at a time, and a protective barrier separates the front seat from the backseat
There is only one actor allowed in the makeup trailer at a time, and the makeup artist has to change her gown and gloves every time she sees someone new
In between scenes, the actors sit in the green room, where they have their own designated chairs that are separated by plexiglass
