When Double Dare was launched in 1986 it sure proved that Nickelodeon was ready to introduce some very interesting programming that kids could enjoy and from the time Double Dare aired it's first episode Nickelodeon knew that they had a hit on their hands and turned Marc Summers from an unknown host to the king of Nickelodeon and now Marc Summers has shown no signs of slowing down his career as a Food Network host today. And if it wasn't for Double Dare's success Nick wouldn't have other game shows such as Finders Keepers Make The Grade Nickelodeon Guts Legends Of The Hidden Temple Nick Arcade and others. But what I think why Nickelodeon cancelled Double Dare was because they added too many spin-offs such as Super Sloppy Double Dare and Family Double Dare and by moving Family Double Dare to FOX in 1988 would've helped Nickelodeon promote each season a lot better also replacing John Harvey "Harvey" with Doc Holliday "not the cowboy in wild west history" as announcer would've made the show survive a lot longer. Although Nick had added Double Dare 2000 in 1999 with Jason Harris and the Double Dare revival last year with Liza Koshy nothing will compare to the original Double Dare
