The Season 5 renewal for "Better Things", co-created, executive produced, directed by and starring Pamela Adlon, follows the praised comedy’s fourth season wrapping its run April 30 and earning another 100% Rotten Tomatoes rating for the show.

"Better Things‘" Pamela Adlon is staying in business with FX Productions, signing a new overall deal with the studio behind the critically praised series.

Under the pact, Adlon will continue to develop both scripted and unscripted programming exclusively for FX, as well as potentially other divisions of Walt Disney Television.

Additionally, FX confirmed a season 5 renewal for "Better Things", on which Adlon executive produces, writes, directs and stars. It’s expected to air in 2021.

Better Things to end with upcoming Season 5

The currently filming fifth season of Pamela Adlon's semi-autobiographical Peabody-winning FX dramedy, premiering in 2022, will be its last. “I will forever be grateful to FX for allowing me to tell stories the way I see the world, and want the world to be seen,” Adlon said in a statement to Deadline. “Making this show has been film school for me. I bow down to my crew and my cast. And I can’t wait for people to discover and re-discover Better Things. This is gonna be a wrap on Sam Fox (for now) See you at the after party.” Adlon executive produces, writes, directs and serves as showrunner of Better Things, which she co-created with Louis CK. When Better Things was renewed last year, Adlon also signed a new overall deal with the show's studio, FX Productions, to develop new TV projects.

FX said today that the fifth and final season of its comedy written, directed and produced by and star Pamela Adlon will premiere at 10 p.m. Monday, February 28. It also will stream on Hulu.

The swan-song season will feature guest stars:

Pamela Adlon would be up for Better Things getting an And Just Like That-style reboot

"Our costumer would joke that we should do a reboot," Adlon said at the TV press tour. "He’s like, ‘You know, like what they’re doing with Sex and the City and Veronica Mars. It’s very sexy to do a reboot!’ So I was like, ‘Let me get through Season 5 first, we’re open to everything.’ But everybody’s feeling satisfied right now to put these stories in this portion of the Encyclopedia Britannica of this family.”
