Default Goldbergs renewed (no surprise)

I'm in a Goldbergs page that Adam F Goldberg himself posts in. He made a comment that he's already working on scripts for next year.

I naturally wonder how much longer can the show last? With Modern Family off the air, The Goldbergs is now for all intents and purposes, ABC's flagship sitcom. The Goldbergs however, is a show about the '80s that has been on for seven years (which is coupled with production costs rising as time goes on). You would realistically only be able to get a couple more seasons out of the concept. I think that Adam F. Goldberg himself has hinted or alluded to his character's high school graduation as a nice natural ending point. Of course in real life, Adam graduated high school in 1994, which is well into the Schooled timeline.

What they could do is have several seasons be one year. I've seen that on many shows where a season was a month or so. It could hypothetically end next year (and when it finishes they will announce it as a final season)but with Modern Family ending I predict it will get a two year renewal with that year (season 9) being the last. I would like to see it hit 10 seasons though. The fact remains though is ABC is in big trouble and it's still one of their highest rated shows, even though it's had a ratings decline the last few years.
