The recent passing of Thomas L. Miller made me wonder if he and Robert L. Boyett produced their best work when they were at Paramount (1974-84), when they were producing shows with Garry Marshall and Edward K. Milkis or when they moved over to Lorimar/Warner Bros. (1986-99)?
It was during the Paramount era that Miller-Boyett produced Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Angie, Bosom Buddies, and Joanie Loves Chachi. During the Lorimar/Warner Bros. era, they produced Valerie/Valerie's Family/The Hogan Family, Perfect Strangers, Full House, Family Matters, and Step by Step just to name a few. Do you agree with the suggestion that Garry Marshall and Edward Milkis acted as buffers against dare I say, their most obviously stupid ideas? |

I voted the Lorimar-Warner era too. Way way way too many good shows they did during that era! I truly miss those days.
The bigger news here for me is Mr. Miller died!?!! I didn’t know! I follow this stuff fairly regularly too! I’ll have to look this up in a second. |
