The former Lost and Hawaii Five-0 star and The Good Doctor executive producer announced on Instagram this morning he tested positive for coronavirus. "Hi everyone- yesterday I was diagnosed with COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus," Kim captioned an Instagram video. "Looks like I’ll be ok, but I wanted share my journey with you in the hopes that you find it informative or helpful. Hope you all stay safe, calm, and above all, healthy." Kim, who was home in Hawaii, noted that "ironically" he has been playing a doctor who “gets recruited to help patients during a flu pandemic" as part of a guest stint on NBC's New Amsterdam. Variety reports NBC sent a memo to the New Amsterdam cast and crew after learning Kim had tested positive. Kim said he started feeling symptoms on his flight back to Hawaii after New Amsterdam shut down production in New York. “It’s important for you guys to know that I was asymptomatic during all of this time,” Kim said, adding that he noticed “scratchiness” in his throat as he was landing in Hawaii. “To be safe, when I got home I quarantined myself in a room in the house and tried to rest on my own,” he said. Kim said he's willing to donate his antibodies to help find a vaccine. Kim's revelation came on the same morning his former Lost co-star Evangeline Lilly made headlines for saying she's refusing to self-quarantine, implying that coronavirus is a political ploy. Lilly, who's living with her father with stage 4 leukemia, wrote on Instagram "there’s 'something’ every election year," adding: “I am also immune compromised at the moment. I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.”
