The ABC comedy shot its final scenes Friday, ending an 11-year run. In a video posted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson's husband Justin Mikita, the emotional cast can be seen singing Green Day‘s “Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)." For the past few weeks, Eric Stonestreet has been posting Instagram videos of the cast and crew accompanied by Trace Adkins' 2008 song "You're Going to Miss This." In honor of the final day of shooting today, Stonestreet got Adkins to film a special video tribute.

Is Modern Family the last long-running live-action network sitcom?

Modern Family, which will end its 11-season, 250-episode run on April 8, may be the last sitcom of its kind. Long-running comedies like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, Married with Children, Murphy Brown, Cheers, Frasier and M*A*S*H were once a staple of TV. But the streaming era is changing the game. "It's going to be so much harder for a show to capture this country's attention, because (viewers) just have too many options now," says Modern Family co-creator Steven Levitan says. "And because people have so many options, I think it's shortening everyone's attention span. It seems like people move on faster these days. They get three or four years and they're ready to move on to something new. It would be naïve to say that something amazing won't come along that will be every bit as good as our show or others that are well thought of, but it's just going to be a tougher road."

Julie Bowen finds a post-Modern Family role: A CBS comedy pilot from Will & Grace creators

After 11 years, two Emmy wins and six nominations on Modern Family, Bowen has signed on to star in the CBS pilot Raised by Wolves, from Will & Grace creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan. If picked up to series, Bowen is expected to earn $250,000+ per episode playing Frankie Wolfe, "a very successful and fiercely independent crisis manager whose world is turned upside down when she decides to let someone into her life for the first time—an 11-year-old girl who she adopts and raises with the occasional help of her fragile, nervous wreck of a sister," per Deadline. "Bowen’s Frankie is a totally put-together powerhouse whose aggressive, blunt-talking style belies the damage incurred by literally being raised by Wolfes (Barbara and Arnie)." Raised by Wolves would mark Bowen’s first multicamera comedy series.
