"CSI: Vegas" Officially Ordered at CBS
"CSI" Event Series Eyed at CBS; Original Cast Members may Return
by Nellie Andreeva February 10, 2020 One of television’s biggest drama series franchises is plotting a comeback. I hear CBS is mulling a "CSI" event series to mark the 20th anniversary of the original series’ October 2000 premiere. The idea is for new installment, from writer Jason Tracey (Elementary), CBS TV Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer TV, to be set in Las Vegas and be a sequel to the mothership "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation", sources said. The hope is that the new incarnation would feature original cast members. I hear William Petersen and Jorja Fox have been approached, but no formal offers have been made. Sources stress that no deals for the potential revival are done, and that the project is still in early stages and may not come together within a reasonable financial framework. Reps for CBS and CBS TV Studios declined comment. https://deadline.com/2020/02/csi-eve...ox-1202854248/ |

"CSI: Vegas" Officially Picked Up to Series at CBS with William Petersen, Jorja Fox & Wallace Langham Returning
by Nellie Andreeva March 31, 2021 The venerable "CSI" franchise is officially coming back. CBS has given a straight-to-series order to "CSI: Vegas", a sequel to the mothership series, for the 2021-21 season. Headlined by returning stars William Petersen and Jorja Fox, joined by new series regulars Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mel Rodriguez and Mandeep Dhillon, "CSI: Vegas" hails from writer Jason Tracey, CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer TV. Also coming back is Wallace Langham, reprising his role as David Hodges. “Twenty-one years ago, we launched CSI and watched in awe as this new cinematic series launched an entire genre and became a groundbreaking juggernaut that still has global resonance today,” said Kelly Kahl, President, CBS Entertainment. “We are thrilled to welcome the next generation of forensic criminalists to the CSI brand and unite them with the legendary characters from the past who we still love, including the extraordinary Billy Petersen and Jorja Fox. Crimefighting technology has advanced dramatically over the last several years, and combined with classic CSI storytelling, we can’t wait to watch this new CSI team do what they do best: follow the evidence.” https://deadline.com/2021/03/csi-veg...ox-1234725364/ |

Jamie McShane to Recur on "CSI: Vegas", Paul Guilfoyle to Reprise Jim Brass
by Denise Petski May 3, 2021 Jamie McShane (Bloodline) is joining CBS’ "CSI: Vegas" in a recurring role. He will play Anson Wix, a civil attorney. A self-made scrapper, he’s someone you’d want in your corner, but the last person you’d want to face off. After years of hard work, he now has his own practice. Additionally, Paul Guilfoyle, who played Jim Brass on the original will return to reprise his role in the sequel series, appearing in two episodes. https://deadline.com/2021/05/csi-veg...le-1234749069/ |
