Question Did Mork & Mindy in a way, hurt Pam Dawber's career

What I mean is that with all of Robin Williams' antics, all she could really do was react and just got stuck in that loop. In fairness, it was obvious right from the jump that Mork & Mindy was Robin Williams' show.

Her other big role is of course, My Sister Sam, which would've been all about forgotten (it only lasted two seasons) had it not been for the tragic circumstances surrounding her co-star Rebecca Shaeffer. I mean, was Pam when you get right down to it (and when not essentially there to be a straight-woman/foil for Robin Williams) charismatic enough to lead her own show?

She's not a comedienne, she's an actress. It was a great gig for her.

She remained active after the show and is still active so the answer is NO

I also didn’t think she was much of an actress, and was lucky to get this show.

I and a Canadian couple a long time ago talked about Robin Williams (years before his death), but they never saw Mork and Mindy (being younger and from Canada perhaps), and I explained it as Robin Williams in his twenties just being set loose on stage, probably on cocaine and we all went “wow”.

I don’t know how they could have made the show different, but if Pam Dawber never existed, that would have been fine by me, and just have the show as Mork the alien getting a job with his extraterrestrial skills and mingled in the young adult 1970’s life. Robin Williams really didn’t need anyone to play off of, he was his own act.

Besides Pam Dawber is married to Mark Harmon, if I had a nickel for every woman who loved him, I would have been their neighbor in Beverly Hills.

I always assumed that Pam's acting career more or less, started to take a backseat after she married Mark Harmon and started siring his children. According to her Wikipedia article, with the birth of her second child, she largely retired from the entertainment industry for family reasons, acting sporadically during the 1990s.

Her last really big acting gig (outside of her guest starring roles on Robin Williams' sitcom The Crazy Ones in 2014 and her husband's show NCIS in 2021) was on a short-lived and long forgotten CBS sitcom called Life... and Stuff from 1997.

Somebody else noted that the problem that Pam Dawber had on Mork & Mindy is that she was playing opposite an actor with great comedic timing and ability.

I dont think it hurt her career. Has she not said she turned down other sitcoms after Mork and Mindy because she wanted a break and the sitcom process bothered her.
I could be wrong but I thought I remembered her saying something like that why she disappeared for awhile after Mork and Mindy.
