Karlen was nominated for three Emmys, winning one Emmy for best supporting drama actor, for his role as Harvey Lacey, husband to Tyne Daly’s Mary Beth Lacey, on the 1980s CBS police drama. Karlen also played conman and scoundrel Willie Loomis on Dark Shadows after replacing James Hall, who had abruptly left the show after five episodes.

I know!! I had already known of his passing when I was watching Cagney and Lacey today! I got tears in my eyes!

Harv was such a sweet man, a very loving Husband and Father and I really think John was very much like that in real life!

And he was Polish American like me!

May he RIP!
