The CW Renews 13 Series

Once again, The CW has given early renewal to its current slate of scripted series. The network has handed pickups for the 2020-21 season to all 13 of its current scripted series that are not ending this season.

The CW has ordered:

Second seasons of "Batwoman" and "Nancy Drew".

Third seasons of "All American", "Charmed", "In the Dark", "Legacies", and "Roswell, New Mexico".

Fourth seasons of "Black Lightning" and "Dynasty".

"Riverdale" for its fifth season.

Sixth seasons of "DC’s Legends of Tomorrow" and "Supergirl".

"The Flash" for its seventh season.

Which Series Is Mulling a Significant, Season-Ending Time Jump? As the old saying goes, time flies when your favorite show stages a significant, season-ending, narrative-altering time jump. TV Line has learned that the producers of an established series are toying with the idea of ending the current season with a massive timeline shift. According to sources, the length of the time jump being considered is in the neighborhood of five years. If the trigger ultimately gets pulled on the flash-forward twist, it would have enormous implications for a number of the show’s current storylines/characters ahead of next season. If it’s a clue you want, it’s a (relatively, infuriatingly minor) clue you are going to get: The show looking to play fast and loose with the calendar airs on one of the five broadcast networks (i.e. ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC or The CW). A decision on whether to proceed with the time warp is expected to be made in the coming days, well in advance of the mid-April publication of TV Line’s 2020 May Sweeps Scorecard.
