Star Trek: Picard has been given a green light for Season 2, reports Deadline. Season 2 of the CBS All Access sequel series to Star Trek: The Next Generation is expected to have 10 episodes, like Season 1, which premieres on Jan. 23. CBS hasn't confirmed the Season 2 renewal, but Star Trek: Picard this morning won $20.4 million in California tax incentives for Season 2, up from $15.6 million in tax credits for Season 1. That's the biggest tax credit the California Film Commission has ever awarded. Season 2 could begin filming as soon as spring 2020. Season 1 Picard showrunner Michael Chabon is expected to exit his role for Season 2 to work on Showtime's Kavalier and Clay, but he plans to remain creatively involved as executive producer. |
