I hope they do a tribute to Neil Peart of Rush.

To me, Tanya couldn't have looked or sounded more pretty singing a song that couldn't have been more fitting for the night considering the helicopter crash that took Kobe Bryant and his daughter earlier in the day.
God bless you and Miss T and the families and fans of those who went forward this past year always!!! Holly (a fan of Miss T since 1991) |

Even when the Grammys gets things right, the ceremony was still a mess
"The trophies, for the most part, went to deserving artists," says Madison Vain, pointing chiefly to Billie Eilish, the first woman to win the Big Four Grammy awards. "But there were also some massive missteps," she adds, such as the Blake Shelton-Gwen Stefani duet near the top of the show. This year's Grammys marked the end of Ken Ehrlich's 40-year tenure as Grammys producer, and Vain says it's about time that he moved on. Vain adds: "In a move that is both an insult to her as well as Prince, a great champion of female talent, producer Ken Ehrlich failed to ask FKA Twigs to actually sing during the tribute to the artist who died over three years ago now, instead having her simply dance alongside Usher and Sheila E. 'Of course I wanted to sing at the grammys,' she wrote on Twitter. 'I wasn’t asked this time but hopefully in the future.' It feels dangerously in-line with a decision made last year when showrunners wouldn’t let Lorde, the lone female Album of the Year nominee, perform any of her own music, solo. (Grande canceled her own 2019 awards performance, tweeting that the Ehrlich & Co. were 'stifling' her creativity.) Ehrlich will retire this year after helming 40 ceremonies, and therefore treated himself to a Fame musical montage that featured Cyndi Lauper, Camilla Cabello, Common, Gary Clark Jr., and somewhere between five and 50 others. It arrived three hours and twenty-five minutes (!) into the broadcast and then lasted just as long." ALSO:
Grammys viewership sinks to a 12-year low The 62nd annual Grammy Awards, airing at its earliest date since 2013, attracted 18.7 million, down from last year's 19.88 million. This year's viewership was the lowest since 2008. It also marked the Grammys' lowest viewership in the key 18-49 demo ever. ALSO: Ric Ocasek's name wasn't the only artist whose name was misspelled in the In Memoriam -- Spanish singer Camilo Sesto was listed as "Camile." Grammys producer discusses Kobe Bryant tribute scramble, Recording Academy controversy, Taylor Swift and making up with Ariana Grande Ken Ehrlich, who produced his final Grammys Sunday after helming the ceremony since 1980, told Variety on Monday his experience dealing with the shocking death of Whitney Houston the day before the 2012 Grammys prepared his team for dealing with the shocking death of the Los Angeles Lakers legend, which was confirmed five hours before airtime. Ehrlich said it was host Alicia Keys' idea to sing “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” with Boyz II Men. "You know that they were already on the show with Tyler (the Creator)," he said. "We ran them over really quick from the hotel and put ‘em in her dressing room, and they rehearsed that maybe for six minutes while she was getting dressed, then it went on the air. It’s really amazing what the human condition can do when you’re tested. And we were tested." As for the controversy surrounding Recording Academy Deborah Dugan's abrupt ouster, Ehrlich said: "With the controversy, if you’re going to call it that, at the Academy, I never let that get into our DNA at all. I had one or two meetings with my staff as it was happening and said to them, 'Look, there’s stuff out there. It’s not going to be complimentary. It ultimately will spill over to what the show is, even though I don’t think it should. But we can’t be distracted.'" Ehrlich also spoke about Swift and how "her representatives called and said, specifically, that she wanted to do the show for me. And then it was not confirmed. So these reports that she pulled out of the show… She was never booked." Ehrlich also recalled patching up last year's rift with Ariana Grande: "I went down to the Forum to see her one night, and we talked for a little while and we hugged each other and we said, 'Let’s get past this. There’s no reason for this to happen. Let’s work on doing a great number on the Grammys,'" he said. "That was it. No drama." |

I don't care about the Grammy's since IMO no music today deserves one. Exception is Tanya Tucker. So happy that she was included and won.
