"The muse is Liane, and she will construct something, so it’s left there," Kidman tells Deadline of the Big Little Lies author Moriarty and showrunner Kelley. "And I like how that is, that it’s David and Liane. It’s David’s show. David E. Kelley constructed this show with Liane Moriarty. They built it from the ground up, and it’s their show, and we’ll see if they’re ignited into building a life for these women, and which way they would go next. We’ll find out. But it’s so nice as actors having that, and that’s where it started. That’s where the second one started. If there is a third one, all of it will come from the writers, and that’s amazing."

Kidman noted that she, Reese Witherspoon, Zoë Kravitz and Laura Dern have been busy working on other projects. "Right now look at Laura, I don’t think we’d ever get Laura back,” Kidman said while promoting HBO's The Undoing with David E. Kelley at the TV press tour. “She’s working in so many different things right now.” Kidman added: “So I think everyone’s working in incredibly good places, which is lovely thing to have come out of that show. Hopefully we can all collide again at some point.” Kelley also weighed in on Big Little Lies' future, noting “the public has so much to watch. There’s a burden on ‘why should they tune in to you?’ We try to live up to the entertainment burden.”
