Why is Julie Kavner so private and reclusive in real life

I don't know if she's always been like that dating back to her days on Rhoda but as part of her contract for The Simpsons, it explicitly states that she's not required to make public appearances or promote the series. She also refuses to be photographed at work or perform Marge's voice outside the studio.

I just looked up her astrology chart and she's a Virgo with Pisces Rising, which explains a lot if you're into astrology. But I think she's interested in working, but she doesn't want to be a celebrity. I can respect that.

Kavner does not like exposing her own personality off-screen, either. Harper described her as painfully shy--the kind of performer who would turn up her collar and run the other way when a “Rhoda” fan greeted her on the street. Kavner, who rarely does interviews, watched with suspicion as a reporter’s tape recorder revolved.

“I’m very, very private; I don’t enjoy talking about myself to strangers,” she said. “Particularly strangers with tapes going.”

Furthermore, she is so private that friends who have known her for decades said she has yet to invite them over to her house. It's just seems really odd that she's practically a recluse outside of work even for a (B-List) celebrity. Also, there's an actor named Steven Kavner who did bit parts in three episodes of Rhoda. One naturally, has to wonder if he is her brother.
